Helloooo! Good day to you! Who am I, you ask? I’m Albert, Physics Major and lifeguard extraordinaire, and I’m your Vice President for the 2018-2019 school year! My interests? I have an uncontrollable love for musicals, bubble tea, and anything made of chocolate. Treasurer:
Jason Vargas
Hi, my name’s JASON VARGAS and you probably recognize me as last year’s Webmaster. Things have changed and I’ve somehow found myself in the Treasurer position. How? Blood, sweat, tears, and lots of love for this wonderful organization. That’s how. Now what am I gonna do as Treasurer? I’m gonna make money and I’m gonna spend money. The rest is a mystery. Now, who am I? I’m a senior studying Computer Science with a minor in Statistics, so numbers are my speciality. I love playing Fortnite, eating pupusas, and hanging out with the homies, so if you can relate, then hit me up! I look forward to a great time this year, so let’s make it great together.

Secretary:
Nessa Rillorta
Hai hai! Ako po ay si Nessa Rillorta and ako po ang secretary ngayon taon! I am super excited to be back on eboard and to make this last year count. I have grown with FCA so much these past few years, which is why I have decided to dedicate one more year. What makes FCA so special is that you can always find a family within it. Family is such an important aspect of the Filipino culture already and I love that FCA embodies that. I want to make it my personal goal this year to make sure that everyone feels that magic and love. I am a coffee-addict, Harry Potter fanatic, cheese lover, Netflix binger geek. I’m also just a low-key introvert so s/o to my fellow introverts out there!

I’m a Government Major with an International Relations Concentration and I love going on long walks and trying new foods. FCA has become a second family to me and my community at UMD. Cultural Co-Chair:
Harvey Saquilayan
Hey!!! What’s up to whoever’s reading this! I’m Harvey, sophomore bioengineering major and one of your cultural chairs for this year! As your cultural chairs, Melanie and I are excited to learn more about Filipino and Filipino-American culture with all of you! Whether it’s the history, dances, food (oh yes, the food), or many other things, I’m sure there’s something within Filipino/Fil-Am culture that we can all enjoy! In my free time, you can catch me playing video games (probably league), getting way too emotional over a k-drama (recommend me some!), or trying to hide from my responsibilities through hours of random Youtube videos. I’m excited to have an amazing year with y’all in FCA and I’m sure we’ll have a great time!!!

Cultural Co-Chair:
Melanie McFarland
Hallo hallo! I’m Melanie (Mel or Melon works, too) and I’m one of your co-cultural chairs for the year!! FCA has become such a big part of my life and has really become my family. The parts of FCA that have been especially inspiring and empowering to me (and I can see it in other people, too!!) are the cultural events — like cultural retreat and cultural dance workshops. This year I hope to give someone else an empowering experience, give back, listen, learn, and watch our family grow :’)) If you wanna know about me though — I’m a public health science major who loves psych and is trying really hard to figure out what I want my future to look like professionally and academically — sometimes it just be like that. Definitely healthcare though — and probably nursing (didn’t see that coming did ya). Other than that, I love dogs, traveling, Kitchen Nightmares, and spending my free time with the people I love :’) I hope we can make this an unforgettable year together!!

Hey guys! My name is Jonathan Ortega (Jon, Jonathan, Ortega, whatever makes it easier) and I am one of your D6 reps for 2018-2019. I am a Kinesiology major and have high hopes to become a physical therapist in the near future. My intertests and hobbies include photography, videography, video games, sports such as basketball and football, and just a bunch of other miscellaneous things. I’d like to see myself as a man of many trades because you’d be surprised to see how much I know and what I can do. I’m looking forward to meeting more people this upcoming year; whether new or returning FCA memebers or other Filipino members in various organizations across the D6 region. A goal of mine this year is to create more unity within our organization and between the other schools in the district. I hope to hear thoughts and opinions from general body to further acheive my goal while making me a better D6 rep; and a better person.
