The Asian-American Student Union (AASU) is the University of Maryland College Park umbrella organization of which FCA is part. The AASU includes nearly thirty cultural organizations and associations. Much communication goes on between the various organizations, as many large events throughout the year are hosted by two or more organizations from AASU. One of the many tasks of the executive board seat of Public Relations Officer (currently held by Maricel Hernandez) is to facilitate communications between the Filipino Cultural Association and the other organizations, not only from AASU but throughout the university.

AASU Mission Statement
The mission of the Asian American Student Union is to provide service, representation, and advocacy for the Asian Pacific American community at the University of Maryland.

AASU Purpose
- Spread awareness to all students and administrators about Asian Pacific American (APA) heritage and culture
- Build unity within the APA community
- Promote pride and educate the campus community about APA issues
- Fight all incidents of discrimination and injustice against all students of color
