FAST Committee Meeting THIS FRIDAY 5:00PM
In 2007, FCA, in collaboration with the Asian American Studies Program (AAST), formed the curriculum of UMD’s first Filipino American History course - one of only two of it’s kind offered on the East Coast. Since then, two AAST scholarships, named after two prominent Filipino Americans (Phiilip Vera Cruz & Major Antonio Taguba), have been created and a Philippine Study Abroad was set up last semester for a future studies abroad program.
As you can see, Filipino American Studies (FAST), has grown significantly throughout the years, but it can only continue to grow with your help! Please fill out the following survey so that we can better understand your interests regarding the program
In addition the survey, FCA will be having a FAST Interest Meeting on Friday, November 15th at 5pm to discuss the future of the Filipino American Studies Program. Interested in serving as a potential member of the FAST Committee?
Please e-mail Krystle Canare for more details.
Cultural Practice: Nov. 17
Hey guys! Just letting you know that this coming week we will start practicing Idaw as next Sunday's cultural dance. This means that you guys out there should come out! Ladies are welcome too of course. We will be in Chem Atrium as always, but since Turkey Bowl is over we will be starting at 12 o'clock noon now rather than 2 pm as in the past few weeks.
Hope to see you there!
FIND Dialogue updates
We apologize for the late update and we are sorry to bring this news, but FIND Dialogue 2013 has been cancelled this year. District 3 ran into issues with their logisitics and room reservations and could not resolve them in time for the event. It is unfortunate this had to happen, and D6 had absolulely no control over this situation.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact your D6 reps.
Congrats to last Saturday's TurkeyBowl players and to the LadyTerp's 4th championship victory!
